🦄 Is Honda Africa Twin Reliable
The 2024 Honda Africa Twin is not just about power and performance. It also emphasizes safety and reliability. During the first 300 miles (500 km) of running, riders must follow specific guidelines to ensure the vehicle’s future reliability and performance. Moreover, Honda insists on using approved helmets and protective apparel for riders
I think it's lighter than the AT by a bit too which is a factor if off-roading. AT will be much easier to load up with panniers etc I would imagine. The Scrambler looks and sounds good too which for me was a factor. For reliability I'd almost certainly say Honda on reputation.
The beauty of the revised AT, however, is how well Honda has harnessed it to do basically whatever you want. From a practical daily rider to a weekend dirt warrior, the Africa Twin can do it all. In this digital age, Honda’s ability to harness the Africa Twin’s abilities is thanks to the robust electronics package not seen on the 2016 model.
I kindly disagree that Honda = reliability without fail. Not specifically the Africa Twin..rather Honda in general when the name 'Honda' is dropped. I agree, generally speaking, that I also presume a used Honda AT would be more reliable than a used BMW GS with zero data to back it up. Others: please provide reliability data directly for an
I have an Africa Twin now (3 years into ownership) and used to have the 600cc version of the Transalp. They are both great bikes, a bit old worlde technology now but very, very reliable. Transalp is very smooth, great seat and riding position but the suspension is not so great if you ride it off tarmac.

Honda Africa Twin: More Power and Rev-Happy. The Honda Africa Twin, on the other hand, features a 1084cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 101 horsepower and 77 lb-ft of torque. While it may have slightly less torque than the Super Tenere, the Africa Twin’s engine is more rev-happy, providing a sportier and more exhilarating riding experience.
JustPlainBill0. Considering the Super Tenere weighs 80 pounds (584# wet) more than an Africa Twin and puts out 90 RWHP (rear wheel horsepower) you're looking at 1 HP per 6.5 pounds of weight. At 504 pounds wet and (est) 80 RWHP, the Africa Twin comes in at 6.3 pounds per HP. The AT is down on horsepower, but should be pretty evenly matched in
Honda finds themselves in an interesting position as they seem to be attempting to position the Africa Twin firmly in the middle of full blown dual sports and bulkier ADV specific bikes. Price will likely be a major factor. We know its going to be reliable and we know there will be support globally, but how much to join the club?
In summary, the 2022 Honda Africa Twin is a versatile and capable motorcycle, designed for both on and off-road adventures. With its powerful engine, advanced suspension system, and range of safety features, it offers riders a reliable and thrilling riding experience.
i narrowed down my search to a African twin and a klr650, i have sat on yamaha T7, tiger 900 rally, africa twin, and klr 650, i didnt bother with the KTM because of reliability. anyways went to a dealer and they have a 2019 africa twin with 9k miles on it in great shape or they have a 2022 klr 650 adventure. i dont care on price just looking
Nonetheless, this “manual version” of the Africa Twin did not disappoint at all. The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is easily one of the best adventure bikes Japan has to offer and is definitely more reliable than its European counterparts.
