🎱 Is A V6 Challenger Worth It
So today's warranties are more about protection from the electronics failures that will render a perfectly good car, undriveable. 95000 miles and running strong! The Dodge vehicles that get poor reliability ratings are the Journey and the Grand Caravan. The charger and Challenger are both probably average or better.
I'm part of the v6 owners since I bought a new 2013 sxt challenger, to me it wasn't worth the outlay in extra dough for the bigger engine. I wanted to buy a new challenger because I loved the look of the car, they just looked cool, I knew what I wanted my car to look like and felt like a v6 car was pretty quick running in the 14's from the factory.
New RT owner here, coming from a dogwater Ecoboost Mustang. Just get the V8. I know it's the cliche advice in the Challenger community, but the main reason is the noise. I have a 19 (so active exhaust), the way it sounds when flooring it in a tunnel makes your spine shiver. The sound makes it all worth it, the extra power is also nice.
hank herbst, Palm Springs, CA, 09/23/2017. 2017 Dodge Challenger SXT 2dr Coupe (3.6L 6cyl 8A) Rented this car for a trip to Vegas. V6 basic car. First impressions were very touchy brakes but you

You would hate to have a beautiful Challenger and then "can't drive it" or worst, get another car to help offset the MPG. At the end of the day, there is a cost to transportation from A to B. I would recommend a brand new V6 Challenger, SXT Plus and loaded. Including safety features such as blind spot warning.
1. moosetho. • 2 yr. ago. If you’re talking about how it drives, it’s very comfortable for cruising and highway driving. I came from a 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T with a 3.6 V6 and went to a 2021 Chally GT with a 3.6, so I’d say the speed and acceleration wasn’t that big of a jump. However the challenger is a boat.
Time is way to valuable to mess with such a project. People tell you to trade the car in if you want a v8 because that's the right answer. Tavarish on youtube put a hellcat in a V6 Charger - go look what he had to go through to do it.
Trucks: Best of Both Worlds. The F-150’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 makes 325 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque. The EcoBoost delivers all the power of a V8, hammering out 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. That’s V8 power with up to 26 mpg on the highway.
If you do go the Exhaust update install J Pipes to reduce drone and lots of headaches. The V6 Exhaust is notorious for droning with modding and unless you use one of these the more you push the pedal the louder the drone and ringing gets inside the car. Truthfully for the money IMHO its not worth it have heard many that are obnoxious.
Nothing wrong with the v6 at all. However, if you want the true muscle car experience including good v8 power and the Hemi sound, get an R/T. The 5.7 offers a very good reliable daily experience. Consider resale, insurance, gas cost etc. You can run 87 octane unlike the scatpack.

I average about 6Km/L and gas prices are a 1.90 a L for premium near me ATM so roughly 120 to fill. As a car guy id tell you that the V6 challenger is not really worth it in comparison to the economy car you're already driving and the V8 is just not something that is feasible in today's economy unless you can really justify it.
